Avant-garde (pronunciation: \ˌä-ˌvän(t)-ˈgärd\ ) Avant-garde represents a pushing of the boundaries of what is accepted as the norm or the status quo, primarily in the cultural realm.
This year we will be looking for the most innovative, thought provoking, and post-modern telling of a story in the Bible. It can be based on a short parable or a whole book in the Bible, but the challenge is to also remain as true to the story and its message as possible.
The grand prize will be a $1,500 advance, one second place winner gets a $750 advance and two finalists will also be named at $250 each.
All four winners will receive a publishing contract from Ellechor, be flown in for the biggest publishing company launch event and see their books in 2011. The contest hasn't officially started, but you can officially start writing!
More Details Coming Soon!
The deadline to enter this competition has passed for 2009, however any poetry you would like considered for our anthologies can be submitted year-round. Though we did not receive sufficient entries to declare winners and publish the 2009 anthology, here are our top entrants. They will all be included in the 2010 Reach the Stars Anthology, and some will be Staff Writers, with their wok displayed throughout the year in our Forums.
